Pybricks
Python firmware and a browser-based code editor for LEGO® smart hubs (SPIKE, MINDSTORMS, Technic, and more). This is what we use to program our robot.

BrickLink Studio
Free virtual LEGO building software — the official replacement for the discontinued LEGO Digital Designer (LDD). It can still open old .lxf/LDD files, so it's the one to grab now.

Field Ruler

Click two points on the field to measure the straight-line distance and angle between them, then see how many degrees to command a drive motor — based on your wheel size — to travel that far. Handy for odometry-based robot code. Comes with the official 2026 mats built in.
